Hartford Seminary celebrated the debut of Prof. Shanell T. Smith's first academic book on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, with a book talk and signing. The book, The Woman Babylon and the Marks of Empire: Reading Revelation with a Postcolonial Womanist Hermeneutics of Ambiveilence, is part of the Emerging Scholars series published by Fortress Press.

Audiobook of MT Winter's 'The Singer and the Song' Nominated for AwardOctober 16, 2014
Famed singer-songwriter Janis Ian’s audiobook recording of Prof. Miriam Therese Winter’s 1999 memoir, The Singer and the Song, has been nominated for a Voice Arts Award by the Society Of Voice Arts And Sciences. In addition to narrating the text of the book, Ian sings a number of Prof. Winter’s songs on the recording.

Prof. Feryal Salem Interviewed on WNPR's Where We LiveOctober 7, 2014
Prof. Feryal Salem was asked to appear on WNPR’s “Where We Live” program on Oct. 7, 2014, to talk about Muslim women. The program also featured Pam Tatge, Director of the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University, who described Wesleyan’s year-long program called Muslim Women’s Voices. Hartford Seminary is a co-sponsor of that program.
