Dr. Hossein Kamaly to Fill Imam Ali Chair for Shi’i Studies

President Joel N. Lohr and Hartford Seminary are pleased to announce that, as of July 1, Dr. Hossein Kamaly will hold the Imam Ali Chair for Shi’i Studies and Dialogue among Islamic Legal Schools. He will also be Associate Professor of Islamic Studies.

Dr. Bilal W. Ansari Named Co-Director of Islamic Chaplaincy Program

President Joel N. Lohr and Hartford Seminary are thrilled to announce that Dr. Bilal W. Ansari, a 2011 graduate of the Seminary’s Islamic Chaplaincy Program, will return to co-direct the program, the first of its kind in the United States and the continued leader in a growing field. He has also been appointed Faculty Associate in Muslim Pastoral Theology.

Boston Theological Interreligious Consortium to Adopt Slimmed Down Format

May 5, 2019

At its April 30th Annual Meeting, the Board of Trustees of the  Boston Theological Interreligious Consortium responded to the changing theological landscape by approving the recommendation of its Executive Director, Dr. Ann B. McClenahan, to develop a slimmer program that will nevertheless continue to be create a collaborative center for theological schools in the Boston region.

Alum Debra Tyler Displays Handmade Earth Scroll

Debra Tyler, a graduate of the Women’s Leadership Institute and the Master of Arts at Hartford Seminary, spent three years creating a handmade labyrinthine Earth Scroll, which adds planetary rituals to those of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
