Hartford Seminary Recognizes Eid Ghadir, Important Shia Holiday

As home to the first academic chair in Shia Studies in North America, the Hartford Seminary gladly announces the recognition of Eid Ghadir on its calendar. Eid Ghadir 2020 starts on the evening of Friday, Aug. 7, and runs until the evening of Saturday, Aug. 8.

Hartford Seminary Joins Journal of Interreligious Studies Publishing Team

Hartford Seminary joins Hebrew College and the Boston University School of Theology as an official publishing partner. Additionally, Lucinda Mosher will now hold the position of Senior Editor, with responsibilities including Book Review Editor, Copyeditor, and editorial advisor to special issues and print projects.

There are several ways to study Greek this fall with Dr. Edward Duffy, who has a passion for teaching Greek and refuses to leave any student behind. Dr. Duffy  believes studying sacred text in the original language is a “treasure waiting to be unlocked.”

Lucinda Mosher and David D. Grafton Contribute to Christian-Muslim History Volume

July 9, 2020

Lucinda Mosher, Faculty Associate in Interfaith Studies, has written an entry on Episcopal Church missionary Horatio Southgate (1812 – 1890) and his writings for Christian-Muslim Relations. A Bibliographical History Volume 16. North America, South-East Asia, China, Japan and Australasia (1800-1914). Academic Dean David D. Grafton supplied an introductory essay for this volume and edited the North American section.
