Its German edition was published by SCM Hänssler and translated by Renate Hübsch with the title Ich war doch noch ein Junge: Ein Holocaustüberlebender versöhnt sich mit seiner Vergangenheit, which means, “I Was Still a Boy: A Holocaust Survivor Comes to Terms with His Past.”

The book narrates the remarkable life story of Mitka Kalinski, who survived seven years of enslavement - while still a child - to a Nazi officer during and after World War II. Mitka now lives in Sparks, Nevada, and he continues to tell his story.

Steven W. Brallier was the lead author of Mitka’s Secret, along with Lynn G. Beck who served as a co-author with President Lohr. At the time of the book's initial publication, Publisher's Weekly said, "Mitka's remarkable story harrowingly demonstrates the horrors and personal repercussions of the Holocaust. Johannes- Dieter Steinert, a foremost expert on child forced labor and the Holocaust, called it, “a most powerful life story of a child survivor.”

The English-language version of the book is also available as an audiobook and has more than 100 five-star reviews on Amazon.

Congrats on the translation, President Lohr!
