The Rev. Dr. David D. Grafton to Speak on Luther Legacy: Luther and Islam
June 14, 2022
The Rev. Dr. David D. Grafton, Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford International University, will speak in a panel organized by Martin Luther University College.
This event is the second installment in a series on Martin Luther’s legacy. It will explore the 16th-century Reformer’s troubled relationship with Islam.
“The speakers were chosen for their extensive knowledge of Luther’s writing in relation to Islam and how his stance continues to affect contemporary Christian-Muslim relations,” said Dr. Mary Philip, the school’s assistant principal and associate professor of Lutheran global theology and mission.
