Master of Arts in International Peacebuilding International Application
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
We are glad you have chosen to apply to HIU and we hope to offer guidance in this process. Below are guidelines to help you gather the correct documentation for your application.
Because this program is very selective, we only allow applicants to apply two years in a row. If you are not selected for an admissions interview in either cycle, we ask that you wait five years before you apply again.
If you are not ready to apply but would like to connect with us and learn more about HIU, please complete a “Request Information” form. If you would like to attend an information session or watch an archived session we invite you to explore those options as well.
APPLICATION CHECKLIST
Here are some application requirements that will help you complete the process and be eligible for review (expand for details):
-
- A list of previous Higher Education institutions and the dates you attended even if you did not complete a degree
- Applicants are required to submit transcripts in English or accompanied by a certified English translation.
-
- You may submit unofficial copies for initial review for a provisional admissions decision. All provisionally admitted students must have official documentation sent to us directly from the degree-granting institutions for final admission and for visa processing.
- Admitted students with non-U.S. transcripts will be required to submit evaluated transcripts completed by a credential evaluation service. You do not need to have your transcript evaluated unless you have been provisionally admitted.
-
- An official TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score report sent from the testing agency itself to HIU. The test must be taken within the last 18 months. The code for Hartford International University is: 8726.
- Or documentation from one of your previous degree institutions that states the primary language of instruction was English. This must be sent from school officials directly to HIU.
-
Required length: 750-1200 words, double-spaced
Please note: We will monitor submitted essays for A.I. generated content. If your essay is found to be predominantly A.I. generated, it will disqualify your application.
