Prof. David D. Grafton to Join Panel Discussion on Islamophobia
July 18, 2016
Prof. David D. Grafton, Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations who will teach his first course at Hartford Seminary in the fall, will participate in a panel discussion on Islamophobia at the Quaker American Friends Service Committee and the Council of American Islamic Relations in Philadelphia on July 24, just before the start of the Democratic National Convention.
The group describes the event this way: “One of the main themes of this presidential election campaign has been the bigoted attack upon the American Muslim community, with Islam becoming the unrelenting obsession of politicians, pundits, and the media. With the repeated harassment and attempted entrapment of law-abiding Americans Muslims by agents of the U.S. Government, is it any wonder that many Muslims feel their community is under siege?”
