Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts have become top of mind for many workplaces over the past several years. But when it comes to religious holidays, few organizations know their way around the questions and concerns that can arise.

Such as, what is the history and spiritual meaning of Ramadan? Or how can Juneteenth serve as a bridge to better empathy and understanding across differences — in the workplace, and in general? Or what are the various greetings you might offer to Jewish employees during the High Holy days? Or why do some Christians celebrate Christmas in January? It is crucial to be aware of the history and spiritual meaning of diverse religious holidays and observances in which employees participate. Knowing and acknowledging them can make a significant difference in their sense of belonging and loyalty.

HIU is raising awareness around these issues with a special webinar series offered through Executive and Professional Education called “Holidays in the Workplace.”

The objective is to reshape decisions around religious holidays and observances to a more empathic and inclusive practice. For example, it might mean rethinking a food-oriented event when Muslim colleagues may be fasting during Ramadan, or rescheduling a team-building event that lands on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur.

Join us for four short and informative sessions about 2022’s major religious and cultural holidays. Help create an inclusive environment of safety and belonging for your teams.
