The Journal of Interreligious Studies (JIRS) is pleased to announce the release of Issue 44. Recognized as a dynamic space in which to share research and pedagogies related to interreligious/interfaith studies and its adjacent disciplines, JIRS is published collaboratively online by Hebrew College, Boston University School of Theology, and Hartford International University for Religion and Peace. HIU’s Professor Lucinda Mosher is senior editor.

JIRS Issue 44 offers six book reviews, a book review-essay, and five peer-reviewed articles—among them, “The Quest of the Historical Jesus within the Framework of Interreligious Relations in the Middle East,” by Najib George Awad, a former member of the HIU faculty. In this essay, Dr. Awad introduces and assesses studies of Jesus by 20th-century Arab Christian and Muslim authors who employed the lens of historical criticism — despite sharp resistance to that research method in their context.

Access to JIRS Issue 44 is available here.
