HIU Welcomes New Employees

New employees

We continue to grow! We are pleased to announce two new hires in the Communications Office and one in the President's Office.

Lizbeth Ryan is the new Communications Coordinator. Liz, as she prefers to be called, comes to us from Colchester, CT. She has extensive experience working as a content creator and social media planner for the website lasbreakers.com. On this website, her main goal was to create a network of support, empowerment, and advice for Latin women who dream of finding a professional job in New Zealand or Australia. She recently graduated with honors from Eastern Connecticut State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Communications, and is fluent in Spanish, her native language. With her experience, she will help raise awareness of HIU’s events, mission, and programs in the Hartford community and beyond. Liz will bring her visual and written creativity, bicultural skills, and positive energy to this new position. 

Joseph Chung is the new Events Coordinator. Joseph comes to us from Vernon, CT, and has served most recently as an Assistant Travel Coordinator for Explore, Inc., organizing luxury safaris in Africa, Latin America, and East Asia. He’s also served as a consultant for the Women’s Federation for World Peace International, where he organized trips to the United Nations, Val-Kill, and the FDR Presidential Library. In addition to English, Joseph speaks French, Korean, and Mauritian Creole. He holds an MA in East Asian Studies from the University of Bridgeport, and a BA in International Relations from Sunmoon University in South Korea. Joseph will help support all HIU events, including the growing needs of Executive and Professional Education. He will bring his experience in event management, marketing, travel, and hospitality to this new position. 

Alexa Del Greco is the new Executive Assistant to the President. Alexa comes to us from Simsbury, CT, and has served most recently as Executive Assistant to the CEO, CMO, and CFO at First Choice Health Centers in East Hartford. Prior to that role, she served as President of Del Greco Agencies, and prior to that served as an Executive Assistant at the University of Connecticut, University of Saint Joseph, and Northeastern University. She brings to the position extensive experience in executive level administrative arts management. She holds an MS in Leadership (Human Resources Management Specialization) and a BA in Psychology from Northeastern University. Alexa will support President Joel N. Lohr's work, as well as that of the Senior Leadership Team, and will serve as a liaison to the Board of Trustees.
