HIU Welcomes Inaugural Vice President of Business and Finance

We are pleased to welcome Beatrice Fevry Stathers as HIU’s inaugural Vice President of Business and Finance.

Beatrice has an extensive background in higher education and over 15 years of experience in financial executive positions. Most recently she served as Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer at Western Connecticut State University. She’s held similar positions at the University of Southern Maine, as well as Misericordia University. She’s also served as Chief Financial Officer for The Hartford insurance company. Beatrice has been an Adjunct Accounting professor at Tunxis Community College since 2008.

With a multicultural background that includes speaking seven languages and interacting with diverse populations, Beatrice will be a wonderful addition to HIU. She will bring her skills in leadership, strategic thinking, teambuilding, creativity, and positive attitude to the position. She has a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Connecticut, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University, and an Associate's degree in Accounting from Tunxis Community College.

Beatrice will work closely with budget managers and Senior Leadership and be part of the President’s executive team. She will oversee, monitor, and manage HIU’s financial health and business operations in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders across the institution to ensure financial and operational strength, agility, and integrity.
