HIRR Research Informs Chronicle of Philanthropy Series

A series of stories in the Chronicle of Philanthropy about the impact of the decline in organized religion on nonprofits used interviews with Dr. Scott Thumma, Director of the Hartford Institute for Religion Research, and data from institute.

Writer Drew Lindsay interviewed more than 40 individuals for the series, which looks at different aspects of how the drop in religious affiliation has affected nonprofits that count on charitable giving and the use of religiously affiliated buildings.
