Prof. MT Winter will address the Intentional Eucharistic Communities Gathering in St. Paul, MN. The gathering, from June 26-28, is one of small faith communities that are rooted in the Catholic tradition but include groups such as alternative prayer/liturgy models, splinter parishes, woman-priest-led communities, offshoot parishes, and independent lay-led communities. Topics include theology, liturgy and organization.

Prof. Shanell T. Smith has a new regular column in Presbyterians Today. Ponderings: Things that Make You Go Hmm … will offer Prof. Smith’s thoughts on a wide variety of topics. Her first is written as a poem.

On June 10, 11 and 16, Prof. Yahya Michot gave three courses of three hours each in Brussels, Belgium, at the Alkhayria Belgica Muslim Institute of Higher Studies, on the following topics: Ibn Taymiyya et le salafismeLes sept dimensions du soufisme classique tardif; and L’art islamique: profane ou sacré? Une approche avicennisante.

On June 13-14, he was in London for an Advanced Ibn Taymiyya Study Weekend at Birkbeck College. On Saturday he gave sessions on: A Salafism of Mercy; Syria and the Mongols; Shî‘isms; and Islamic Spirituality after Avicenna. On Sunday, he was joined by Dr. Jon Hoover (University of Nottingham) and Dr. Yossef Rapoport (University of London) for a three-hour Abrahamic panel on Studying Ibn Taymiyya: Past, Present, Future.
