Georgetown University Press has announced the pending publication of Mercy and Grace: Christian and Muslim Perspectivesedited by Professor Lucinda Mosher, director of HIU’s Master of Arts in Interreligious Studies program and an affiliate of our Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations.

Based on the twentieth convening of the Building Bridges Seminar—an international dialogue under the stewardship of Georgetown University since 2012—Mercy and Grace is the eleventh volume Dr. Mosher has edited for the project’s book series.

This compilation of essays, texts for individual or dialogical study, and other resources provides guidance for anyone who wishes to explore these foundational concepts. It also includes several pieces celebrating the project’s longevity—among them, a preface by Dr. Mosher entitled “Two Decades of Mutual Theological Hospitality: Reflections on the Twentieth Anniversary of the Building Bridges Seminar.”

Dr. Mosher has been chronicling the Building Bridges Seminar since its inception. She became a participant in 2011 and joined its staff in 2012. Her twelfth Building Bridges Seminar volume is in the publication pipeline—soon to be joined by her thirteenth.

In June, she will take part in the Seminar’s twenty-third convening—which will provide the basis for yet another book. In recognition of her many years of service as the Building Bridges Seminar’s rapporteur, she has now been made a Research Fellow of Georgetown University’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs.

Mercy and Grace: Christian and Muslim Perspectives will be released on April 1st. It is available for pre-order now.

Congratulations, Lucinda!
