An Art Exhibition on the Ethiopian Tradition of Solomon and Sheba

September 29, 2022
from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Art Exhibition graphic

The epic story of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba is found in each of the Abrahamic traditions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The tradition is also part of the national identity of Ethiopia. Thanks to a generous donation facilitated by the late Harold "Hal" Buckingham, an HIU Ambassador, we have received a painted vellum scroll of the Ethiopian story of Solomon and Sheba. Come and view this painting and learn about this fascinating tradition in a presentation by Dr. David D. Grafton, Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian Muslim Relations.

The scroll is displayed in the Budd Interfaith Building at 60 Lorraine St., Hartford, CT, which is where this event will be held. Light refreshments will be served.
